A signature photographed on a phone almost always has the same problems: the white paper comes out grey, a shadow falls across one corner, and the pen strokes look washed out. Exam portals and document checkers read that as a dirty or invalid signature. The enhancer solves it the same way professional scanning tools do — by thresholding.
